In 2015, I made the biggest and most nerve racking move in my career. I believed I was being left behind at my present job, and knew that this Social Media thing was going to turn in to something really really big. So, after 28 years in retail, the last 10 of which in sales; I gave up my weekly paycheck, my possible retirement savings, and used my 401k to survive for the next six months. This is when I made the leap into social media marketing.
I couldn't imagine how big this was to become, but in many ways I did. I had a vision of what social media can be truly used for and how to combine that with my business acumen to create a better understanding of the social media business platform.
Fast forward two years in, and I have been all around the country (from Massachusetts to California, to Florida, to Washington and everywhere in between), and have met so many incredible artist, people, and have made many many friends along the way. It has been an incredible journey to say the least.
April is Don's first employee of fiidnt Marketing. She started off slowly, helping Don set up some of his schedules, but this quickly become a vital role in the make up of fiidnt Marketing. Managing fiidnt Marketing's books and schedules is an every day task, which takes up a considerable amount of time and effort to juggle all of our clients, while at the same time, being a full time mom. Much like many of our clients, it takes a lot to juggle so much.
Scott joined Don with his fiidnt enterprise in March of 2017, joining him as his business manager and technical adviser. He quickly joined the educator team, and has since become an important part of the education process in teaching clients how to build their brand.
Scott graduated from Boston College with a degree in Business management, and spent thirty years in the retail world, successfully managing large retail stores (with sales over 6 million per year) in a highly competitive environment. He has been using his experience in the retail world to help our clients build, market, and understand their brand.
"It was a scary proposition to move into a completely different field from doing something that I have done for what seems like forever. I have only really known the retail environment, but joining Don is this venture, something I believe in, was the right step to take. I know that I personally get excited for our clients when I see their brand grow and how excited they get, when the steps they have taken to build their brand, starts to show dividends. That is when I know that I have made the right choice to 'take the leap'."
